Introduction
We were appointed by the homeowner to construct a single storey extension to the rear of this semi-detached property in Glasgow. Works included formation of the timber kit, structural steelwork to the rear elevation and internal supporting walls to form an open plan kitchen and dining space with the addition of a ground floor utility and bathroom area.
The project
The structural steel works included a double goal post frame to support the rear elevation walls with a supporting steel running from this to support the spine wall which was removed. Steel was used to form an opening for the installation of smart fold doors to create a clear opening of over 4m to create an open plan feel to the garden outside.
The kitchen which we fitted was supplied by Gideon Robinson with breakfast bar area comprising a hob with built in extraction to avoid the need for a wall mounted extractor fan.
The extension has transformed the property providing a great family space for the customers and their children.
