Distillery Fire Alarm System Upgrade

Introduction

We were asked to provide an estimate for additional works to upgrade the existing fire alarm systems at a distillery in Scotland.

The project

The proposed works included replacing the existing fire alarm control units and installing smoke detection to match the specifications of the systems recently installed in other areas of the distillery. Signalling units were also included to facilitate communication with the Alarm Receiving Centre and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Working within an operational distillery environment required consideration of site access, safe working practices and the potential impact on ongoing operations. The relocation or movement of stock was excluded from the estimate, with any requirements to be assessed on a building-by-building or area-by-area basis following a further site visit.

The proposed fire alarm upgrade will bring these warehouses in line with the rest of the distillery’s fire alarm systems. By upgrading the existing equipment and installing additional smoke detection and alarm signalling, we aim to support a safer environment and improve consistency across the site.
With careful planning and a focus on health and safety, we are committed to delivering a well-managed solution that meets the site’s requirements while minimising disruption to day-to-day operations.
