Fire Damage Traditional Roof Reinstatement

Introduction

We were instructed to carry out fire damaged reinstatement repairs at this property as an approved contractor for one of the UK’s leading claims consultants. We were subsequently appointed the reinstatement of the neighbouring property to ensure a seamless approach to the reinstatement of both roof structures.

The project

Careful, planned and phased downtaking works were required to ensure the safe removal of the fire damaged debris which had collapsed inwards during the fire. Careful propping to enable the floor space to be cleared following by installation of a safety walk deck system enabled the careful dismantling and disposal of the remaining roof structure.

Utilising templates taken during the downtaking phase we were able to carefully reinstate the roof structure including the formed bellcast detail to match the original construction on a like for like basis.

The neighbouring property, whilst suffering extensive roof damage, had to be protected from the Scottish weather whilst the roof structure was replaced and the rosemary tile roof covering reinstated. The installation of a roof scaffold provided suitable protection from the elements and enabled the roof structure repairs to be completed without any risk of water ingress to the remaining fabric or finishes within the building.
